My Teeth Are Missing!

Don't worry they haven't fallen out or anything, they just have decided to go for a little wander through my gums.

So it all started when the dentist discovered that my 2 top canines are still milk teeth and the rest I'm a little confused about but I'll do my best to explain it. Basically, the adult teeth that were supposed to have come through have moved and now they aren't lined up with where they are supposed to come through. When my dentist realised that they were still my milk teeth he referred to the orthodontist as he suspected I might need braces to help fix it.

So I went to my appointment and I was really scared because anyone I've ever talked to about getting braces says it really hurts and that dealing with them is really hard. Anyway, it turns out that I am in the 2% of the population who have this problem, it means that I have to have surgery and anyone who knows me knows that that terrifies me. The best part about this, not only do I have to have surgery, I have to have braces for two years. I have to have the operation under general anaesthetic, I know that's supposed to make it easier but it involves needles and a chance of me throwing up which as those who are close to me know is not a good combination.

Anyway, what I really wanted to ask is have any of you ever gone through anything even remotely close to this because I could really use someone to talk to.
